No Good Deed Bird Goes Unpunished

Oh, Oprah Winfrey. We heart you, but you should have known better than to get involved with KFC! Ms. O offered a PDF coupon for two free pieces of Kentucky Fried Chicken's Grilled bird; you already know this because if you didn't see it on TV, hear it on the radio, or read it in the paper, someone called you or e-mailed you about it.

Anyways...the offer was good for "participating" KFC's only, and havoc ensued when too many people tried to get their coupon at once that KFC's site crashed. Plus select locations decided not to participate in the offer and sit-in's were staged by customers.

The coupon cannot be downloaded any longer, but if you already printed it you can redeem it at PARTICIPATING KFC's until May 19th, excluding Mother's Day (which just seems cruel).

This scandal is so huge, in fact, that it's cause a TYPO on Oprah's website. Free offer is good for two pieces of grilled chicken and two individual sides and a biscuit at participating KFC restaurants located "in the Unites States" while supplies last, O's site says. So in other words, nowhere, because the Unites States doesn't exist. So none of you should be complaining.
