Alive

David Bowie, Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day, Jay-Z, Clive
Davis, Mike Mills of R.E.M., Alicia Keys, Petra Nemcova, Gwen Stefani,
Diddy. Those are just a few of the names that turned out for last
night's $1.5 million AIDS fundraiser benefit concert called The
Black Ball.
The 4th annual Black Ball concert honored
U2 frontman Bono for all of his charity work, and presented him with a
Liberty Metal at a ceremony during the event. Bono, Alicia Keys,
and Gwen Stefani all performed.
He
says, "Rock stars always want to do two things. They want to have fun
and change the world. If they can do both at the same time, you're
okay."
Petra Nemcova (Nemcová, actually) a fashion model from the
Czech Republic and good girl extraordinaire, shows some skin at the Keep
a Child Alive event. Petra has her own charity, the Happy Hearts
Fund (HHF), which helps children who have suffered
hardship as a result of natural, economic, or health-related
disasters.
The Keep a Child Alive charity is an organization
that helps children and families obtain life-saving AIDS drugs and
support for survival in Africa, where the AIDS pandemic is raging.
They provide crucial anti-retro viral medication AIDS
sufferers.
Speaking of Keep a Child Alive, this
week America's Next Top Model (ANTM) contestants' challenge was putting
together a promo bit for the AIDS charity. They posed in recycled
goods. I didn't see it but plan on watching the rerun: cool
shots, good
cause!
Wouldn't it sound like farting if
Ebony sat down in that skirt,
though?
