If You Were A Presidential Candidate, How Would You Do?
Wednesday,
February 20th, 2008
This is definitely an interesting way to get more involved in politics. If you were
running for President, how would you do? It's not too late to join U4Prez.com's social
networking election
- think the MySpace of politics - which is on their newest version
(Web 4.0) - in time for their 2008 race. No, Hillary Clinton, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Barack Obama,
and Ron Paul are not candidates. But you can see how you would rate if you went up against one of
them.
This was such an interesting
site to stumble upon! You can assign yourself as a Democrat,
Republican, or an Independent
, and choose a photo and profile just like you would
in most cyberworlds, but on U4Prez you get votes based on your likeability as a potential
presidential candidate. No kidding!
This brainchild site from IntraLink gets an A++ for
originality - and creativity - in our book! Plus you can talk shop with fellow Obamans, Paulites...
and whatever the other candidates' supporters are called.
Ever notice that many Obamans and Paulites get along
in relatively perfect harmony?
When we were tuning in to last night's Ron Paul campaign
announcement yesterday, more than a
few Obama supporters showed up, identified themselves, and then blended
right into the discussion without prejudice.
Maybe Obamans aren't so bad after all (not that we said they were). Sorry, I still don't trust Barack - but I do have to say that despite
criticisms between the to supporter groups, Obama fans seem to maintain an overall peaceful
solidarity yet general willingness to listen to all sides of a story, which
is pretty refreshing. When political discussions are poignant yet peaceful - that speaks well for
the future of American politics.
