CompuCredit Cracks Down On Pool Sharks
Friday, August 22nd, 2008 by Esmerelda

Pool players aren't the only ones being penalized by CompuCredit. They have
cancelled cards for people who frequently get massages, go to marriage counseling, have their tires
retreaded or hit the bar for a drink or two.
"The company touted that cardholders could use
their credit cards anywhere," says J. Reilly Dolan, assistant director for financial practices at
the FTC. "What they didn't say was that you could be punished for specific kinds of purchases."
But
never fear the FDIC has filed a $200 million dollar lawsuit against the company. CompuCredit's
defense? Everybody else is doing it.

Big Bank Fees petition yet?
