Ah-HA! Finally someone with more clout has seconded our opinion
on the music noise by rapper noisemaker Soulja
Boy. We already loved Ice-T because he tells it like it is about music,
politics,
and everything in between - and now he's set another record for no-holds-barred on DJ
Cisco's Urban Legend mixtape.
"F*ck Soulja Boy! Eat a dick! This
n*gga single-handedly killed Hip-Hop," Ice says. "That shit is such garbage,
man. We came all the way from Rakim; we came all the way from Das EFX; we came
all the way from motherf*ckers flowing like Big Daddy Kane and Ice Cube; and you
come with that Superman shit? That shit is garbage. Hurricane (Chris)...man
up. You n*ggas is making me feel real f*cking mad about this shit."
We said
it about "Crank That" in September of '07 (when it was the top song on the
Billboard Hot 100); and again when
it was still hanging around by February of '08: it's just disappointing.
DeAndre Way - aka Soulja Boy - is only 17 years old, and making
some serious bling for himself off the ringtones market with his beats. So while we
hand it to him for being a young entrepreneur...meaning, man, we need meaning!
