Snoop
Dogg, Ciara Honored At Hip
Hop Summit Action Network Awards
Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network Awards
dinner was yesterday, a fundraiser for "taking back responsibility" in the
hip hop music community by honoring those stars that give back their time
and their funds to helping to improve "the quality of life of all people,"
according to HSAN Chairman Russell Simmons, who hosted
last night's shindig. Ciara, Snoop
Dogg, Doug E. Fresh, Jim Jones,
and Chris Lighty were among those who were honored for
their good deeds in the hip hop community.
Ciara showed up on the
red carpet looking fly as all get out - who is this woman's physical
trainer? She looks better than Jessica Simpson did when she got all
slimmed down and pumped up to play Daisy Mae Duke in The Dukes of
Hazzard.
According to Hip Hop Elements,
when Russell Simmons announced the honorees of the Awards, he
said, "HSAN holds the Action Awards to celebrate the importance of people
taking action to give back to our communities. Snoop, Ciara,
Doug E., Chris, Jim, and Mellody [Hobson, Capital Management prez]
represent the best of hip-hop and have all uniquely and effectively
given back their time, money and energy...HSAN, therefore, is proud
to honor each of them with the 2008 Action Award."
We
dig...but where was Wyclef Jean? You can hardly
leave him out of the giving back category...
