It
Seems
Like
Just
A Matter Of
Time For The Heartbeat Boys

In February, I made reference to Maurice Starr wandering
around scooping up new talents, working with upcomers like Big
Face and The Heartbeat Boys. I poked fun -
just a little - only because Starr seemed like he wasn't sure of their
ages and it sounded like maybe he was making it
up. Well color me wrong, because The Heartbeat Boys are no
joke, and have quite a large local fanbase already (as our support e-mail
found out). Jarrell Mason with WUAG-FM has just interviewed them, and summed it up
with, "These boys got talent. I had them sing a capella on the show
to disprove that whole boy band stereotype." He will be providing us
the interview audio, so bookmark and stay tuned!
Maurice "The
General" Starr is responsible for pulling together groups like New
Kids On The Block, New Edition, and others; and
his latest venture are these five boys with great sets of pipes:
11-year-old David Crider, 13-year-old's Patrick
Joseph "PJ" Hoover and Ryan Findlay, 14-year-old
Emile Doles, and 15-year old Nat Coombes
- all from Orlando, Florida. They're so young! Then
again, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera all got
their start on The Mickey Mouse Club at similar ages; and, of course, New
Kids On The Block (NKOTB) which still has a huge
following after all these years, were just little lads when
they started out, as well.
And according to
Jarell Mason, who is well-informed on pop culture phenomenons, "Those
boys are good with a grassroots following...it is a matter of time before
they blow up." Hmmm. Well, if that's true, you heard it here
first!
