The Half Blood Prince Release Date Changed

The new release date for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is July 17,2009. As of this writing that's 317 days 13 hours 49 minutes and 9 seconds from now. If you want to know how long it is from when you're actually reading this buzz on over to hpana.com and check out their countdown.

I for one wasn't happy to find out they'd pushed back the release date. Though Potter fans won't be entirely left out in the cold. Rowling is releasing a new book this fall. The Tales of Beedle the Bard. This book was mentioned in her final book of the Potter series, The Deathly Hallows. The book is retailing for $7.59 on Amazon. But they're also selling an exclusive collector's edition of the book for $100.00. The book releases December 4th. Just in time to put under the tree.

The film adaptation of Stephanie Meyer's book Twilight will slide neatly into the spot left by The Half Blood Prince and open on the highly coveted November 21st. Strangely enough Robert Pattison is starring in the film. His previous role was as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix.
