John Graziano's Mother Reports He May Be Improving

John Graziano, the handsome 22-year-old Marine who was put in a coma after Nick Bollea aka Hogan crashed his sports car under the influence, may be showing some signs of getting better.  His mother told Tampa Bay 10 News last week that John is "semiconscious and has opened his eyes."

"He still can't breathe without a machine and can't speak," the article states, "but recently, he has shown some signs of improvement.  Graziano leaned away from his mother as she tried to touch his face recently, she said."

Debra, John's mom, also sent this Bible passage to Tampa Bay 10 (Romans 8:28):  "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose."

According to court docs, he will need lifelong care and at best will only be able to open and close his eyes periodically.  Nurse Joanne Jones, who the court asked to evaluate John Graziano, said that he is on total life support, is comatose, and responds to a pinch and has a gag reflex but otherwise does not react to touch or sound.  His pupils are fixed.  Graziano's doctor stated that John will "most likely spend the remainder of his life in a nursing home."

A civil suit by the Graziano's is said to be upcoming, but they are likely waiting the typical 6 months from the accident to determine the degree of improvement in the victim's condition.
