We have received a lot of e-mails
since we published our
Celebrity
Justice: Nick Hogan aka Bollea
Series, inquiring as to John Graziano's condition. Many
readers have e-mailed us wondering whether or not he is improving, if
the Veterans Administration's transfer decision was fair, and if he is
receiving adequate care at this point in time. I conveyed the well wishes
and prayer promises that came pouring in when people saw this man's picture,
read his story.
We've forwarded these questions to the attorneys
for both John Graziano's father, Ed, and his mother, Debbie; their
attorneys sent us a statement this afternoon:
"John is making
some improvements; however, sadly, he is still unconscious," the
statement read. "He has a long way to go and his family would ask
that everyone please keep him in their prayers. As for the move to
the VA, both John's mother and father agreed to the move."
"They
also feel that the best hope for John to improve is to be at a facility
that is specialized with brain damaged patients, such as the VA.
Currently, John's family is happy with the care he has been receiving at
the VA.
Thank you for your concern and interest."
It was a
joint statement from both Kim Kohn and George Tragos, the attorneys for
John's parents.
Meanwhile, the Hogan's
pending divorce has led to speculation in the media as
to whether or not the true motives are to minimize financial damages,
should the case be brought to civil court in 2008.
"The divorce petition seeks a split of
the couple's assets, including a Belleair mansion and Clearwater Beach
home with combined assessed values topping $7.9-million," the St.
Petersburg Times wrote yesterday. "[Kim Kohn, attorney for
Ed said] a divorce could be one step the Bollea's could take to try
to protect assets. That's because it could cut Terry Bollea's assets in
half."
