In Memory Of Sgt. 1st Class George Stanciel

Sgt. 1st Class George Stanciel of Greenwood, Mississippi died on August 19th at Forward Operating Base Gary Owen in Iraq, from wounds suffered when the base came under mortar attack. He was 40 years old.

Sgt. Stanciel was assigned to the 370th Engineer Company, 54th Engineer Battalion, 18th Engineer Brigade out of Bamberg, Germany.

He was in the Army for almost 19 years and this was his second tour of duty in Iraq. He is survived by his wife Shequita, their 11-year-old son, and their 8-year-old daughter. Please keep George's family, friends, and fellow soldiers in your thoughts and prayers.
