Fred
Thompson
Drops Out Of Presidential Race
Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

There is one less Republican on the ballot today,
as former Senator Fred Thompson from Tennessee issued a very brief
statement on his website today, announcing his withdrawal from the
Presidential race. Thompson, who has only been in the
race since September, expected most of his votes to come from South
Carolina, but finished there with only 16%.
"He's
been really good lately, but it's too late," CNN analyst Bill Bennett said. "If you're a
Southern conservative and you can't make it in South Carolina, it's
over."
"Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the
United States," Fred posted in his online statement announcing his drop
from the race. "I hope that my country and my party have benefited
from our having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be
grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful
people."
Benefited? How is that? By taking votes away from other
candidates and only sticking with it for four months?
Argh!
And we are so over this actor/politican crossover. We certainly don't
need any more politicans used to making a living by putting on
an act!
Well, at least one of the candidates we've
branded creepy-crawly-givers
is out. Give his votes to
Ron Paul!
Wait!
There's more! More
