Exxon Makes Excess of 45 Billion
Monday, February 2nd, 2009 by Connie T.

Ah, what would we do without the Detroit Free
Press? Layoffs may be abounding everywhere from Macy's to Starbucks, Kodak
to Target, Caterpillar to Sprint, Harley Davidson and
the Home Depot to United Airlines and Williams Sonoma (literally!), but
somewhere Exxon execs are smiling.
The Free Press reports that the profits for oil company Exxon Mobil
were over $45.2 billion last year alone.
It broke the record for earnings for a U.S. company and
has $31 billion in cash lying around to use for...whatever.
Doesn't seem right, does it? Perhaps
they should lend the state of California a few bucks for tax refunds, so that Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn't
have to hand out IOU's!
