Eva Mendes Baffled By Banned Ads

Video of the banned commercial, NSFW or kids in the U.S.
Not like she's an international role model or anything like that, but actress Eva Mendes
has seen her share of...well, most things, and sometimes words of wisdom come from random
places.
Several networks in the U.S. decided Eva's Calvin Klein ads were too raunchy
for television, and banned the commercials that showed Mendes semi-covered on a bed.
Eva told People: I love my country,
but I believe we are too quick to censor nudity. We seem okay with violence, but nudity we
race to criticize and censor. I'm not at all ashamed or frightened about showing my body.
I'm going to have to say I agree with her. European countries with nude bodywash ads breed
far less sexual criminals than our FCC-enforcing networks do. It's the truth. And yet we
have video games being marketed towards children with mushroom clouds - as in nukes - shooting,
limbs flying, the ultimate threshold of violence.
That is of course to say nothing of
the regular violence and aggression we see on TV and in the movies. But, of course, I
suppose this commercial would cause equal hubbub to Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction
circa 2004.
