Elton John To Perform For Hillary Clinton
Monday,
March 17th, 2008
Hillary Clinton's campaign announced today that Elton John will be
performing a fundraising concert for the Clinton campaign on April 9th,
entitled, "Elton and Hillary: One Night Only." I'll
avoid the obvious jokes here - I think they are both good people, whether
or not I agree with the politics. The campaign's press release bills
it as Elton John's "first solo concert on behalf of Hillary Clinton's
campaign," and his "first public solo concert in New York City without his
band since his solo concert at Madison Square Garden in October
2000." It's to be held at Radio City Music Hall in New
York.
"I'm not a politician but I believe in the work that Hillary
Clinton does," Elton John said in a statement. "I'm excited to
support Hillary by performing at what will be a truly memorable
night."
The tickets prices range from $125-250, with the proceeds
to go,
obviously, to the Hillary Clinton campaign. Do you think he'll perform "Candle In The Wind," or
would that be a prophetic jinx to the campaign?
