Ratings Slump Caused By DVRs
Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 by Esmerelda

All the network execs were in a panic. Ratings have been falling
drastically from last year. They all just knew that you were sitting at home in front of the
television since you can't afford to drive your car anymore. So what's the problem? DVRs.
It seems that the American public still has a life in spite of high
fuel prices and haven't, in fact, quit watching television. Instead, they've discovered that
more and more of us are using our DVR's to keep up with out favorite programs.
In
order to keep up with the times Nielsen is now releasing first live plus seven day playback
DVR ratings. This is giving the networks more accurate numbers. It shows that ABC is actually
up 5% from last year.
Anyways, I don't know about you but it kind of freaks me out to
know that they can tell what I'm watching, when I'm watching it, and which parts I fast
forwarded through. I vote we go back to taping shows via VCR just to get under their skin.
