DMX
Ordered
To Pay Up In Baby Momma
Defamation Lawsuit
Tuesday,
January 15th, 2008

Earl Simmons, aka rapper DMX, was ordered on Friday to
pay $1.5 million in damages to Monique Wayne, a woman from Maryland who
sued DMX for defamation, false statements, and unreasonable publicity of
her private life. This is the woman whom DMX told Sister 2
Sister mag had "raped" him while he was sleeping, after he
met her at a Washington, D.C. nightclub. Hence the defamation
suit.
Monique gave birth to DMX's child in 2004 (she won both the
paternity suit and child support). She testified that DMX said he
cried rape to make good with his wife.
He told the mag, "She raped
me...That might sound like some bullsh*t...is that the only thing in the
world that's not possible? Because when I sleep, my **** be
out...DNA says it is [mine]. I don't know...If I did, I would
remember. It ain't like she's a pretty girl."
DMX did not
show up at his court date on Friday, and has no lawyer listed in his
defense. Murray Richman, his longtime attorney, claims he heard
of the suit through the tabloids and has no record of DMX being served
with papers.
The judge awarded Monique $518,400 in compensatory
damages and $1 in punitive damages.
An inside source told
ConnieTalk.com exclusively that American Express Travel is also after DMX
and Tashera Simmons in Arizona for an undisclosed amount that was never
paid for. Our source says that DMX and wife Tashera were also due in
court this month over the lawsuit, but didn't show, resulting in the
plaintiff's attorney filing for default judgment.
No charges have
been filed yet in the August raid of DMX's home which turned up dead pit
bulls, guns, and drugs.
