DC
Madam Conspiracy Theory
Takes Root Over March Interview
Friday, May 2nd, 2008

It seems open-and-shut:
Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the 52-year-old woman dubbed in
the press as the "DC Madam," was convicted in federal
court two weeks ago of running an illegal prostitution ring for the
Washington DC's elite. Yesterday, she was found hanging in a shed by
her mother Blanche Palfrey and was said to have committed suicide.
Police announced that they did not expect foul play. But
PrisonPlanet.com, one of the homes of The Alex Jones Show, has interviews posted on their site that tell a much
different tale than that seen in Time Magazine.
In fact,
The Alex Jones show asked her directly in March about this topic, to which
she replied, "No I'm not planning to commit suicide. I'm planning on
going into court and defending myself
vigorously.".
The AP reports that Republican Senator
David Vitter of Louisiana was one of the clients, and has
apologized for what he referred to as a "very serious sin."
But
while the media has reported over and over again a quote from Dan Moldea -
who told Time that Palfrey said she'd commit suicide before going
to jail - little to nothing has been republished of her interview with The
Alex Jones Show, in which she repeated multiple times for the record that
she had no intention of suicide and planned to fight her case. She
also implied that she found it suspicious that one of her former
employees, Brandy Britton, committed suicide before her
own trial in January.
"She was a very upbeat person, a very
positive person," Palfrey had said. "She was going into court, she
was ready to fight 'em...she was absolutely not going to give in...and all
of a sudden...she committed suicide. And her family members, her
friends say that this was extremely abnormal, she was not in a frame of
mind to commit suicide, that perhaps she knew something."
Deborah
Palfrey's own mother, Blanche, told investigators that she had no
indication that the DC madam was suicidal, either.
Well, Alex Jones may be a
conspiracy theorist, but the interview audio is clear as day...who knows?
