Staff Sgt. David L. Paquet of Rising Sun, Maryland died on August 20th at
Combat Outpost Vegas in Jalalabad, Afghanistan of undetermined causes while conducting patrol to
support Operation Enduring Freedom. He was 26 years old.
Sgt. Paquet was assigned to the
1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division out of Fort
Hood, Texas.
The incident is under investigation. David is survived by his wife of six years, Katie,
his parents, two brothers, and a sister. Please keep his family, friends, and fellow soldiers in
your thoughts and prayers today.
