Daryl Hannah Speaks To UN About Climate Change

Daryl Hannah is one hardcore environmentalist, bless her heart - this is one star that does not have quadruple the carbon footprint you do!  In fact, she probably makes up for a few of ya!  The Kill Bill actress and global warming activist, who has won multiple environment-friendly awards including the Influencer Of The Year Award in 2004, has a house run on solar power, drives a biodiesel car, runs a blog on sustainable solutions, and has actually been arrested for chaining herself to a walnut tree to prevent the bulldozing of an urban farm.

Hannah attended the United Nations General Assembly two-day climate change event, and in a press release yesterday by the UN said that "to her, the issue of climate change came down to the question of values."

She expressed that people need to examine the ramifications of their actions and daily choices, and was thrilled that there was such great international support, so much so that over 112 Member States had requested the floor to discuss climate change.

"It [is] also essential that individuals and non-governmental organizations receive support of the international community, governments, and business," the UN reported.  "She was thrilled that people were finally beginning to recognize the urgency of the situation."
