Will Riding A Scooter Save You Money?

I've noticed that lots of people are getting scooters lately and if I thought
I'd look like Jennifer Lopez on one I've have it by nightfall. But would riding a
scooter save you money?
The truth of the
matter is that even if it gets 80 mpg it may take a long time before you break even.
Scooters cost from $1,000-$7,000 and unless you live in a tropical climate you can't ride them
year round. Even then you have rain to consider. Also, you can't bring home Grandma and Grandpa
from the airport or haul five bags of landscaping rocks home on the back of your scooter. So,
chances are, you'll still have to keep your car and it's attending payments, insurance,
maintenance and parking fees.
MSN is estimating that a scooter driven 4,000 miles per
year that averages 95 mpg which was purchased for $3,200.00 will take more than 11 years to
pay for itself.
If you're thinking about buying a scooter, check out this article.
It has a handy calculator that will let you know how much you can save on gas per
week/year with a scooter and how long it will take to recoup the cost.
