Pfc. Cody J. Eggleston of Eugene, Oregon died on October 24th at the National
in Bethesda, Maryland, from wounds suffered on October 16th in Baqubah, Iraq from indirect fire. He was
21 years old.
Pfc. Eggleston was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st
Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division out of Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

The Oregonian,
Cody was married in June, turned 21 in September, and left for Iraq the next day. He was there
for less than a month before he was fatally wounded. The mortar attack also killed 21-year-old
Spc. Heath K. Pickard of
Palestine, Texas.
