We Vow To Omit Clinton Obama Battles From This Weekend's News
Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Have you had enough yet? We have! This Memorial Day weekend, we
are vowing not to write anything whatsoever about the War of the Words between
presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. (Don't
worry, we won't write about candidates John McCain or Ron Paul, either -
it's only fair.)
Actually, it's more the press spinning everything out of
control and out of context than anything else: hand-selecting a quote about RFK's
assassination and throwing more pastor comparisons into the mix. Yawn.
How many months do you think it's been since the actual issues were debated in
the media? Yeah, there's some coverage of Obama and McCain "
trading barbs" over Veterans' bills, but sadly that's heavily outweighed by
generalized issues meant to spark controversy: more race, gender, and religion
(as if we needed more separation on those issues).
So, we're taking a break
from the presidential candidates. Are you relieved?
