Runners-Up Hillary Clinton, Ron Paul Still Out There
Wednesday, August 6th, 2008 by Connie T.
As we all know, Barack Obama has sealed his position as the Democratic
nominee for the presidential race, and John McCain has done the same for the Republican
Party. However, that doesn't mean runners-up Hillary Clinton and Ron Paul are just
disappearing into the sunset.
Mike Huckabee, in case you're wondering, has
gone off and gotten a job with Fox News as a regular political commentator and contributor.
Ron Paul is continuing to plan for a convention
of his supporters right alongside the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis September 1-4th.
And Hillary Clinton isn't ruling out fighting for the chance to be on the Democratic ballot for the DNC,
either, which is to be held August 25-28th in Denver. She just recently told supporters, What will
happen at the convention in respect to my putting my name in nomination, a role call vote, and the usual
kind of process that occurs at conventions? We're
trying to work that out with the Obama campaign and with the DNC. I happen to believe that we
will come out stronger if people feel that their voices were heard, and their views were respected. I
think that is a very big part of how we actually come out unified. But when she mentioned
everyone eventually coming behind Obama, her supporters didn't seem too thrilled. Hillary's supporters
are die-hard!
