Clay Aiken, Is It Really True?

Things have been relatively quiet on the Clay Aiken front since news hit the internets of Clay's alleged father-to-be status. Various media outlets reported earlier this month that a representative for producer David Foster has confirmed that Aiken fathered the baby that David's sister, music producer Jaymes Foster, 50, is carrying (through artificial insemination, that is). Jaymes was the executive producer of Clay's album "On My Way Here."

On Aiken's website, there are no tour dates posted or planned; Clay's run in Spamalot is through; and publicity for the former American Idol contestant has slowed to a halt since his packed schedule in April.

Sources say that Clay and Jaymes' child is due sometime in August, and the sex of the baby has not yet been released.

Although the pregnancy news itself shocked us, it doesn't really surprise us that there's someone out there more than willing to carry a Clay, Jr. around for Aiken without the relationship part...there are probably thousands of those out there, in fact. Is the nod of Foster's brother a true confirmation, though? I mean, one minute Amy Winehouse's dad says she has emphysema, the next minute she doesn't...that has nothing to do with Clay Aiken but you know what we mean. We were kind of waiting for a press release or other type of solid confirmation before speculating on this...but geez, it's been a month now! Claymates, give us the dish!
