Dick Cheney Calls Interrogations 'Success'
Thursday, April 23rd, 2009 by Connie T.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney gave an interview to FOX News
(who else?) regarding the recently declassified internal CIA memos
that reveal harsh interrogation techniques such as waterboarding that many consider to be
torture.
Cheney appeared to defend the actions of the George W. Bush administration,
saying that Barack Obama should not have apologized to other countries for the now banned actions, saying
they did not need to be apologized for.
Dick Cheney said that he finds it "disturbing...[that] they
put out the legal memos, the memos that the CIA got from the Office of Legal Counsel, but they
didn't put out the memos that showed the success of the effort."
"Since the US
provides most leadership in the world," he continued, "I don't think we have much to apologize for."
Hmmm...breaking US and international law, perhaps?
