If You Pray, Say A Little One For Cameron Diaz Today

Actress Cameron Diaz was riding high...she was filming My Sister's Keeper based on one of my favorite books of all time (by Jodi Picoult) in production right now alongside costars Abigail Breslin, Alec Baldwin, Joan Cusack.  Cameron's on the May 2008 cover of British GQ Magazine, in which she gave a light-hearted interview to Adrian Deevoy about how she's a woman who's boy crazy but loyal and committed, and opened up about her breakup with Justin Timberlake and her dating habits.

But today, terrible news hit:  Cameron's 58-year-old father Emilio Diaz passed away suddenly from complications due to pneumonia.

Production for the filming was shut down and Cameron likely won't attend Elton John's bash celebrating British GQ.  Cameron issued the following statement through her publicist today:

"My mom, sister and I are deeply appreciative of the overwhelming outpouring of love and support during this difficult time for us and all of our family."

Losing a parent is one of the most tragic experiences in a lifetime, and our thoughts and prayers go out to Cam and her family.  Hopefully her privacy will be respected by the photogs in this difficult time.
