Bush Denies Congress FBI Interview Documents
Thursday, July 17th, 2008 by Connie T.

As we eagerly await to see whether or not Dennis Kucinich's attempts
to remove these powers progresses, President George W. Bush has claimed executive
privilege and is refusing to grant Congress' request for documents of FBI interviews with Bush
and Vice President Dick Cheney, regarding the leak of CIA Agent Valerie Plame Wilson's identity.
"The Attorney General has requested that the President assert executive privilege with respect to these
documents and the President has done so," said
U.S. Deputy District Assistant Attorney General Keith Nelson in a letter to the House.
The letter was
received just before the House of Representatives Oversight and Government Reform Committee was
to vote on a contempt of court resolution against Attorney General Michael Mukasey for not
providing the subpoenaed documentation.
