Another Bin Laden
Tape Released
Sunday, December 30th, 2007

In an audio recording that was released on the
internet yesterday, al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden's still photo
appeared with what is believed to be audio of his voice, warning of more
attacks against Israel and the expansion of the jihad ("holy
war"). The tape has circulated through worldwide media outlets,
although it has not been verified - and probably will not be, as we
don't recall anyone officially "verifying" the last tape,
either.
In the tape, Bin Laden urges Iraqis to reject a plan
meant "to give Americans all they wish of Iraq's oil," saying those who
take part in a unified government will be turning their backs on
Islam.
He urged Iraqis not to join the Awakening Councils, which
are mostly Sunni tribal police, and include former insurgent volunteers
being employed by the U.S. military for about $10 a day to fight
al-Qaeda and reduce violence.
According to the SITE Institute (The Search for International Terrorist
Entities), the over 56-minute long video is titled "The Way to
Contain the Conspiracies," and in it Bin Laden references the Annapolis
Conference, which was held on November 27, 2007. The assassination
of Benazir Bhutto is not mentioned.
"You should know that the
enemy takes positions amongst the Muslims so that they may be human
shields," he says, "And here I stress to my Mujahideen brothers to be
aware of these bunkering movements, and make sure that their operations
target the enemy and are restricted by Shari'a restrictions, kept away
from the Muslims if possible and done without hindering Jihad in the
Name of Allah."
He added, "We will not recognize even
one inch for Jews in the land of Palestine as other Muslim
leaders have."
