Nicole Richie Reaches Out For Kids In Need

So many people stepping it up to help kids in need lately! We told you this week that Mariah Carey is becoming a Global Hunger Ambassador. And now Nicole Richie - who has already had a foundation for kids for a while now - visited Beyond Shelter recently and was touched by the 175 children with families there, playing in a concrete courtyard and taking turns playing in a rec room that allows only ten kids at a time.

The Richie-Madden Foundation posted this video of her time at Beyond Shelter.

Beyond Shelter is a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, California, that helps combat chronic poverty, welfare dependency and homelessness. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden will also be hosting their First Annual Richie-Madden Children's Foundation Walk In The Park & Family Picnic for Beyond Shelter on Sunday, October 19th.
