Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Video
Tuesday, October 16th,
2007
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, which is
dedicated to increasing awareness of early breast cancer
detection. This year, over 40,000 women in the U.S. will
die from breast cancer. It is estimated that in 2007, about
178,480 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed, although incidence
rates have decreased since the turn of the millenium. And death
rates from breast cancer have been declining since 1990, with larger
decreases in women under 50. The decreases are believed to be the
result of early detection through screening, increased awareness, and
improved treatment.
Here is a video clip / tribute we've put together for the
cause:

There is a lot that
you can do:
1. If you visit our breast cancer page, we link to a site where you can fund free
mammograms for women with one click, and you can also grab the following
graphic for your MySpace page, FaceBook profile, or website:

2. Visit the Susan G.
Komen for the Cure website, where you can find walks or runs
for the cure in your area, read news & events, make a donation, read
about Garth Brooks' new album supporting the cause, or visit their
Promise Shop, where 50-80% of all gift item funds go to research and
community outreach programs that support saving lives and ending breast
cancer forever.
3. Embed our breast cancer awareness
video by copying and pasting the code below into an e-mail, bulletin
post, or webpage:
4. BreastCancer.org is a good support site for
women who have been affected by the disease: they offer symptoms,
treatment side effects, research news, support, and ways to lower your
risk.
5. You can find Breast Cancer
Awareness month events, fundraisers, workshops, even barbeques here.
