Paris Hilton Blew It: The Inheritance Is Going
To Charity
Friday, December 28th,
2007

You are going to love this
news. Hilton hotel heiress Paris Hilton is not standing to inherit
the disgustingly huge fortune of the Hilton hotel chain. Her
grandfather, Barron Hilton, 80, announced on Wednesday that he is donating
97 percent of his $2.3 billion fortune to charity. $4.5 million of
it is going to the Conrad
N. Hilton Foundation. That leaves just about $69 million, to
split among all of Barron's children and grandchildren.
In 2006,
Jerry Oppenheimer wrote about the Hilton family in the book "House of
Hilton," and said that patriarch Barron Hilton is embarrassed by the
behavior of his socialite granddaughter Paris and beleives it has
tarnished the family name.
Oppenheimer said he "was, and is,
extremely embarrassed by how the Hilton name has been sullied by
Paris. He now doesn't want to leave unearned wealth to his
family." The foundation it is going to relieves suffering, distress,
and destitution by providing funding for clean water, education, housing,
and drug projects, as well as a fund for Roman Catholic nuns in Los
Angeles.
The Hilton family is no longer in possession of the Hilton
hotel chain, either - Barron sold it for $20 billion in October of 2007 to
a private equity firm named Blackstone Group. Paris' little
brothers, Barron and Conrad, are even named after their grandaddy.
Ouch!
Good for you, Barron!!!
