Barack Obama Schools Larry King On New Yorker Cover
Thursday, July 17th, 2008 by Connie T.

This was a goosebumps-moment, even if you're not politically aligned with
Barack Obama. Barack was on Larry King on Tuesday night, and Larry asked about the subject
the mass media has been hashing and rehashing all week: the infamous New Yorker magazine
cover.
When we first saw the mag's cover - depicting Michelle Obama and Barack
standing face-to-face wearing hippie Military vs. Muslim garb - we thought, Well, there are idiots
out there. Some of them can draw. And that was the end of it, as far as we were concerned. But
for some reason this qualifies as Earth-shattering, discuss-it-all-week material in the MSM.
So
Barack's response likely echoed what many of us thinking: are those
your real issues, Larry? CNN?
"Well, I know it was the New Yorker's attempt at satire. I don't think
they were entirely successful with it, but you know what? It's a cartoon, Larry.
"That's why
we've got the first amendment.
"And I think the American people are probably spending
a little more time worrying about what's happening with the banking and the housing market, what's
happening in Iraq and Afghanistan, than a cartoon.
"So I haven't spent a lot of time
thinking about it."
THANK you! He couldn't have said it more perfectly. And then Larry
continues to ask about it. Hey, Barack, if we vote for you, could you fire CNN? Like, the
entire network?
