Grassroots Organize Bank Protests
Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 by Connie T.

Stop Foreclosures and Evictions is organizing a nationally coordinated Call To Action
from October 24 - 27 to send the message "Bail out the people, not the bankers!"
During that
weekend, grassroots protestors will be holding demonstrations in front of banks, particularly
JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citibank, and local Federal Reserve Banks. The stock
markets are crashing, the world economy is headed into a deep recession or even depression, and the U.S.
government and its top bankers, along with their counterparts around the world, are giving what's going
to amount to trillions of dollars to the bail out the richest 1 percent of the people while doing
nothing to rescue ordinary working and poor people, the group's website states. The Nationally
Coordinated Local Days of Action are being organized here,
and include groups like coalitions to stop foreclosures and evictions, employee unions, groups for
Katrina and Rita Survivors, and more.
