If you're sick to death of watching the same old campaign commercials check out livingroomcandidate.org. They've
got commercials for every race back to 1952. The Living Room Candidate list everything from
Dwight Eisenhower vs. Adlai Stevenson to Jimmy Carter vs. Gerald Ford.
Of course, if you still want to see the current ads, the site has those as well. The site is
organized so you can select commercials by year, type and issue. They even have an eight
part lesson plan available for teachers. Transcripts are available on the site as well as a
little history about the campaigns.
Anyways, it's pretty interesting to see how
presidential candidates have marketed themselves over the years and makes a nice change
from sitting around watching reruns of Seinfeld.
