It's Up To US Consumers To Get Bank Fees Back
Tuesday, July 15th, 2008 by Connie T.

We've told you before: commercial banks such around $33 to $37 per failed transaction
from consumers in overdraft fees, on top of negative balance fees per day. Banks also utilize
unjust practices such as applying charges from highest to lowest (instead of the order in which
purchases were made), legally holding deposited check(s) without reason, and displaying different
balances between ATM receipts and internet account ledgers.
In the midst of an economic
downturn, with foreclosures running amuck and bankruptcy laws that no longer free Americans from
debt, these unfair bank practices must be stopped.
But who has the power to change
it? You do, that's who.
Last year, consumers in Britain challenged Britain's financial
institutions against overdraft, bounced check, and borrowing fees. The Independent
site began a campaign for the customers, and the 3.8 million Britain citizens got the equivalent of
about 5 billion dollars returned to them by the banks.
ConnieTalk has started the
same campaign for U.S. consumers, and we're not stopping until we make a difference.

Whether or not you have been a victim of bank fee(s), please take action. Imagine a family
balancing their account to the last dollar, and having their groceries post before their electric
bill, sending them into a tailspin of debt from which they cannot recover. This is our economy.
Our struggling citizens need this money, not the big banks and their CEO's. All
you have to do is sign, and please pass it on. Digg it, StumbleUpon it, e-mail it...get as many
signatures as possible and let's not stop
until our voices cannot be ignored.
