You broke it, you bought it! The bailout is bullsh*t! These were the chants heard on Wall Street last week as over 500 protestors gathered to voice their opposition of George W. Bush's proposed $700 billion bank bailout measure. The good news? The bailout has been struck down after mover than two-thirds of Republicans voted against it.

California's Prop 2 To Protect Animals, Food Supply
The majority of you have voted in our poll that you want to see more politics on this site...so we're listening! And many of you also wanted to read about animal rights issues, and this measure combines both of these subjects. Californians have the opportunity to vote for Prop 2 on November 4th. The measure would stop cruel and inhumane treatment of animals in meat market farms; it would also go after downed animal practices.

15 Reasons To Question John McCain
We were going to do a recap and critique of Saturday's debate between Senator's John McCain and Barack Obama, which drew astonishing viewership at 52.4 million. Clock Ticks Down On Bank Bailout
Perhaps in confidence that the financial bailout will proceed, Senator John McCain as revoked his 'suspension' of his campaign and is back on schedule for tonight's debate with Senator Barack Obama at the University of Mississippi. (Or it could be because Sen. Obama's campaign made it crystal-clear that the debate was on whether McCain showed up or not.) But despite some reports to the contrary - mostly via investors with their fingers crossed - the $700 billion bank bailout plan has not yet been approved.

The Bank Bailout: Telling Congress NO
Did everyone get to see President George W. Bush give his address to the nation last night regarding the economy and his proposed $700 billion big bank bailout? If not, you didn't miss much. Hmm. I always thought one-hit wonder was hyphenated. I guess its subjective. PETA's Breast Milk Ice Cream Proposition
I think PETA is a great organization and they've done some clever marketing campaigns lately. I mean, the I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign was brilliant marketing. Even getting Pam Anderson involved was a good move. They get tons of great press and a lot of people respond positively to it. But I think they've crossed the line this time.

Ron Paul Calls You To Action Part II
Although the present bailout package is almost certainly not the end of the political atrocities we'll witness in connection with the crisis, time is short. Congress may vote as soon as tomorrw. With a Rasmussen poll finding support for the bailout at an anemic seven percent, some members of Congress are afraid to vote for it. Call them! Let them hear from you! Tell them you will never vote for anyone who supports this atrocity.

Polar Bears Starving, Drowning For Lack Of Ice
This is really, really sad. This week we told you about how Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin used her role as Governor in Alaska to sue the George W. This decision was made after summer sea ice - the polar bears' much-needed habitat - sank to a record low last year.

Senators May Actually Fight Bank Bailout
I don't know - I heard a lot of noise from the Democratic Senators regarding the Iraq invasion, but five years later, we're still there. So we'll see if they stick to their guns this time. The George W. Bush administration wants to give $700 billion to big banks and financial institutions as a bailout for bad mortgages and investments. But considering the banks are the ones who actually got the foreclosed properties back - leaving the former homeowners with nothing but debt - Democrats are taking pause at bailing out the banks and not the middle class families who were affected. And it's not just the Democrats, either.

Save The Cows - We Are THIS Close!
As we've said before, at least 13 of the 16 cases of mad cow disease in North America have come from downed animals. Who Goes Home On Dancing With The Stars
For the first elimination, though, I'm going to give my prediction for the bottom three only (although Samantha will probably do the whole in no particular order schtick). Jeffery Ross. He's hilarious, and he's paired with the uber-gorgeous Edyta Sliwinska. But I just don't think he's made for dancing. Chef Rocco DiSpirito is a hot-tie, paired up with Karina Smirnoff - and as much as I'd like to see him stay, I don't think he has the fan base a lot of these stars came on with. And finally Maurice Greene, paired with Cheryl Burke. I think he'll be out soon, too.

Why Animals Fear Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin. No, we are not just talking about a woman who likes to hunt. Put aside the fact that polyester can be spun into faux fur stoles, muffs, and coats, and that there's no good reason to continue to cut the skin from animals to steal their coats. We're talking about a woman that has every intention of converting her anti-environment plight into legislation. She wants to drill in waters that whales call their only home. She wants to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve.

Are You OK With Giving Big Banks $700 Billion?
If only this got as many headlines as the tabloid trash. As you may know, President-not-for-much-longer George W. Bush is tacking on another insult to taxpayers in addition to the $9 trillion national deficit before he makes his exit: he's asking Congress to agree to pay around $700 billion (out of your pockets) to banks and financial institutions in the U.S. to bail them out of defaulted mortgages, foreclosed real estate, and other bad investments.

North Korea Chooses Nukes Over Deal
This is the kind of thing that drives me crazy, because the U.S. went to war with Iraq over a false lead that Iraq might have nuclear weapons. Yet today North Korea is saying they do not care to be taken off the United States' terrorism blacklist, and refuse to abide by a nuclear disarmament deal.

Media More Concerned With Lipstick Than Politics
Not that this is much of a surprise, but the mainstream media has been more focused on Barack Obama's 'lipstick on a pig' comment in the past week than anything remotely politically-related. FreePress.net has put together this amusing (albeit hair-pullingly ridiculous) series of clips of just how wild the MSM went for those four words. Palin Had Alaskans Paying For Rape Kits
Sarah Palin, the Republican Vice Presidential candidate and overnight celebrity, has become one of the most blogged-about topics on the 'net. And that includes yours truly. We still haven't gotten into our opinion on her hunting and aerial-killing history, but we'll save that for another day and just leave it at: I think I may go for Halloween as Sarah Palin with a bloody caribou over my shoulder (fake, of course). The Courageous Journey Of The Lost Boys, Part 2
Both Beny and Ayuel walked for months across Sudan to arrive at separate refugee camps in Ethiopia. Beny was 9 and Ayuel 7. Later Beny came to Panyido where he met Ayuel. They spent 4 years there and 10 in Camp Kakuma, Kenya. They came to Kansas City in the summer of 2001. At first I thought it was an interesting story that people would be interested in. But as we progressed their goal became mine: to get the story out about the crisis in Sudan where 2 million people died and many more are displaced so that the world community may know and use their resources to help.

The Trailer King Dies At Age 68
Most of us go into the theater and plop down with our extra large popcorn and some Sugar Babies. We watch the trailers and try to pick out what we think we'll be watching next time we come. The New 90210 Is A 9021-No
Shame. We tuned into the CW's new spin-off of Beverly Hills, 90210 last night. After anticipating the series for most of the summer, I lasted exactly 18 minutes, and couldn't go on. In my late 20's, I have fond memories of growing up to the first series, produced by the late Aaron Spelling.

The Song I Cannot Stand
Perhaps I wouldn't hate this song so much were it not for the fact that last night I was cuddled up in a blanket, vanilla candles burning and throwing shadows across my walls, my plush long-haired cat on my feet, prepared to read an enthralling but slightly overly-intellectual novel, and could not get past a single sentence due to a neighbor blasting Ray J's Sexy Can I until 1:00 in the morning.
